Community Acupuncture

Acupuncture has been a community-based medicine for most of its long history. In Asia, Acupuncture is traditionally practiced in a group setting rather than in individual rooms. Community Acupuncture represents a return to this tradition. Community style Acupuncture focuses on “distal” points (points below the knees and elbows) so that patients can remain fully clothed during treatment. This type of setting allows for several patients to receive treatment at the same time. Patients find this setting extremely comforting and so do we. We feel that the collective energy of treatments occurring in an open, group atmosphere, actually makes the individual treatment more powerful. In addition to the powerful healing environment Community Acupuncture provides, it is also provides affordable treatment for all. We at Holistic Healing Acupuncture don't want financial issues to get in the way of your health and healing process. This is why we follow a sliding scale payment plan. Pay what you can. No questions asked. However, due to this greatly reduced pricing, we ask for cash or check only payments.
$20 - $40 Per Treatment
Sliding Fee Scale~ Pay what you can, no questions asked
What To Expect
When coming to your Community Acupuncture appointment, we recommend having a light snack an hour or two before hand. You should wear comfortable, loose clothing that can be pulled up to expose knees and elbows.
You will be sitting in a zero gravity chair and will have a blanket to cover with. Once you are settled in we will come around and chat with you about your concerns and intentions for your treatment. You will then be needled and left to, close your eyes, practice deep breathing, and relax; many patients often fall asleep. You will rest for anywhere from 1/2 hour to an hour; as long as you wish. It is recommended that you drink plenty of water after your treatment.
We ask that you to turn off your cell phone and talk quietly so as to not disturb other patients. There will be soft music playing and plenty of natural light. Feel free to bring in an eye mask if you would like. After your treatment you will place your name and decided payment amount in the provided envelope. Envelopes will be left in the basket as you leave.
*First Time Appointments*
Your first appointment will take a little longer than the following appointments. This allows us the chance to talk, get to know you, your intentions, as well as your health history. We want to discuss any concerns and goals with you so that we can come up with the best treatment for you. This initial intake may take anywhere from 10-15 minutes.
